    I’m sure I’ve seen some ported cylinder engines without pinned rings,
    and wondered about it. Also on any engine when one assembles the
    rings staggered, I often wonder how long they stay in that position.

    Removed the pins???? Wow, Tubs, that took guts to say that. I’ve never done it though, so have no first-hand experience with the consequences–or not.
