    I like to use the 7.2V NiMh hobby batteries. Easily rechargeable, lightweight and inexpensive. A 5000 mah will last quite awhile. I carry two charged batteries in the battery box with a Traxxas plug on each, and a mating plug wired through the walls of the box to the external posts for the coil wires. The extra voltage doesn’t seem to hurt the points either and makes for a nice, hot spark.
