Ok, here’s what I’m asking. I have 2 heavy black wires coming from under the mag plate. one goes to this switch. What is this switch and what does it do?
The other black wire is not connected to anything. It’s just hanging free
Where should this wire be connected?
Down on the throttle gear there is a mercury switch
What does this switch do?
Again, this motor has no battery hookup, no electric starter. It is just a pull start, manual choke motor that was used with cable controls. With these wires not hooked up will the motor start and run? Or do these switches needed to be wired properly for the motor to run?
